More news on Cy

Mike just sent me this message a few minutes ago. Dave and I have the autumnal cold, so we will not likely be able to visit Cy anytime in the next several days.

Hey Kerry,

I just got back from the hospital and here's an update. Unfortunately, he is back on a respirator because of the pneumonia. This isn't necessarily a bad thing at this point though, because it gives the doctors the opportunity to get a good look at his lungs so they can figure out what exactly is causing the pneumonia and can most effectively treat it. He was sleeping when I was there, and his parents said he is still pretty much out of it because of the swelling. However, the fluid seems to be draining well so they hope he'll become more lucid as the swelling decreases. This is a similar situation to where he was before and we all saw how well he recovered. Hopefully, it's just a bump in the road and he'll be out and about again in a few weeks.

They plan right now is to move him back over to the ICU at Duke as soon as a bed opens up. Hopefully today, but no one knows for sure exactly when the move will happen. And as far as visitors go, even though it is probably not a good idea for cy to have a lot of visitors right now, his parents have set up camp in the visiting room at Duke South (off of Wake Forest Rd) and will do the same once they get back to Durham, so people can feel free to come by and say hi...I know they would appreciate the company.

That's all for now and I'll let you know if I find out anything new.

-Mike
